Our research on "Expectations of Generation Z from the Working Life" has been completed.
Conducted in collaboration with BAU CO-OP, with valuable contributions from Prof. Hatice Necla KELEŞ, a faculty member of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the study explores the views and expectations of Generation Z in the workplace. The scientific research, conducted among Bahçeşehir University students and ATA Holding employees, sheds light on the preferences of Generation Z in the business world.
Youngsters focus on action rather than slogans. Generation Z, in the professional world, expects to be valued, desires respect for their ideas, and seeks a constructive communication style in the workplace. They emphasize the importance of sharing and fostering friendships with colleagues, expressing a desire for social interactions to continue beyond work hours.
They perceive monotony as a threat. Generation Z employees prefer a professional and enjoyable atmosphere at the workplace, rejecting monotony and aiming to support entrepreneurial spirit through in-house projects. Many of them contemplate initiating their ventures after gaining work experience. Working opportunities abroad, employment in global companies, and international experiences are among their major goals.
Young individuals place importance on spirituality in the business world. Young employees assert that talent wars are effective in job changes. While acknowledging the significance of salary, they highlight that they will not change jobs solely for monetary reasons, believing that enjoying and being happy in one's work are equally valuable.
They say yes to hybrid work arrangements! Generation Z prefers a hybrid and flexible work routine, opting for an environment with face-to-face interactions rather than working entirely online. Flexibility and balance are crucial criteria for them.
